Well, I am a little late in posting, but here are some pics from my 10-year high school reunion that was held June 13th-14th. We had a light Mexican-theme dinner at the school on Friday night and then a more formal gathering with spouse's Saturday night at Cajun's. We had a seafood buffet of shrimp, catfish, and the works. There was a DJ and plenty of loud music. I got to catch up with my friends, Wendi (the top picture); Stephanie and Gwendi (the second picture); Margaret (third picture); and Mary-Margaret (final picture). Wendi and I were oddly enough not really friends in high school but became sorority sisters in college. She is so much fun to be around! She is in her second year of pharmacy school. Stephanie and I were in Anatomy together and became friends through Gwendi. My boyfriend and Stephanie's boyfriend in high school were best friends so the 4 of us hung out a lot together senior year. Stephanie is an X-ray technician who delivers radiation to cancer patients. She is the nicest person you will ever meet. Gwendi and I had fun making fun of her new Southern accent. In high school, she had a clear midwest accent and now because of her boyfriend and co-workers from southern Arkansas, she has a definite change in her s-y-l-l-a-b-l-e-s! It is very becoming of her though as is her new hair-do. I'm super jealous. Gwendi. Where do I start? Gwendi and I became friends on a trip to Washington, D.C. junior year. She is a talker, and talked my ear off the entire airplane trip. She introduced me to every guy I dated in high school. We had many happy memories together. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding in 2001 (I caught her bouquet and got engaged a few weeks later), and then she served as my bridesmaid a year later. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Emmett, who is in the Army (where she works as a civilian) and has a beautiful daughter, Evie. I had so much fun seeing Evie over the weekend. I hadn't seen her since she was about a month old (she's 3 now). Margaret and I were Chemistry partners junior year. Thank God for Margaret! Chemistry was definitely not my strong suit. We had several classes together actually, I think Honors English a year or two. She lights up a room with her smile. I always felt happy being around her. I haven't seen her in more than 5 years, and it was great catching up with her. She has a great husband and is happy with her job as a grant writer for health programs. Mary-Margaret and I go way back. We took dance together in elementary school and went to junior high and then high school together. She is happily married and is the alumni director/fundraiser for our high school now. She helped plan the reunion, and did a great job. She was shocked to hear Corkie was still alive. She asked if we had any pets. I said, "you remember Corkie." She said "yes, do you have one of her decendents?" I said, "No, it IS her!" HA! All-in-all, it was a great weekend, even though I feel extremely old!!
We had a GREAT visit with my dear sorority sister, Laura on Saturday and got to meet her new daughter, Emma Grace who was born last Monday. Laura was so generous and let me hold Emma for nearly two hours! She is SO cute. She is dark complected with lots of hair. Her big brother, Taylor, is not so sure of his sister (he was hoping for a brother). But he did tell me several times that his sister is "so pretty". Laura is a great mom and will be enjoying her long maternity leave. Her niece, Lucy, was born in the same hospital two days after Emma, so her family
