Happy 9th Anniversary

Happy July 20th! Hopefully we will get to celebrate soon...How does fresh shrimp and a walk on the beach (without kids) sound??

Random Summer Pictures

Cleaning out the camera & found these cute pictures. I cannot believe how fast the summer has flown by! At their last doctor's visit, the girls got a book titled "Feelings". It shows one picture per feeling. For example, a girl that fell off her bicycle & underneath the picture it says, "HURT." Their favorite picture is a girl huddled up with her teddy bear in the dark and it says "SCARED." So Geneva & Lexa love the word scared. They always look so pathetic, wrinkle up their face, & say "scared." When you ask them, "what are you scared of?", they always say "vacuum." Geneva has a love/hate relationship with the vacuum. She can't quite figure it out. She doesn't like the loud noise but at the same time peaks around to watch me clean. So slowly she started warming up to it... pointing to the closet where the vacuum is located & saying "mommy's vacuum" and then "scared". A few weeks passed & she began to open the closet & touch it. Now she not only opens the closet but sits next to it. Lexa's favorite pastime is to bring Geneva (or Whiskey) gifts like they are royalty! She offers up her favorite toys & books & buries her subject with them. The other morning this is what I found...

One random Saturday we were bored & thought we would take the girls to the library for the first time. Within 5 minutes of arriving they announced that they were having a special presentation for kids...a rap artist rapping about reading. We thought we would check it out. Each kid got a musical instrument & got to dance to the latin music. Geneva had SO much fun. Can you see her on stage in the white shirt with flowers?

It took Lexa awhile to warm up, preferring to sit with her instrument. By the end she was dancing away.

Swimming Lessons

Geneva & Lexa completed their 2 week swimming course with Libby's son, Mason. They had the best time! They learned to go under water, kick, jump in the pool (from the side & off the diving board), & go down the water slide. We were both in the pool with them the entire 35-minute class so taking pictures was impossible. Mauree was able to come on the last day & snap a few. I am so proud of my waterbugs. We are all ready for the beach! [Geneva in the pink with mommy, Lexa in the purple with daddy].
